About this item

An antique brass-finished polished bank teller grille. This grille was once located in the William Street of the National Bank, Limerick. The grill comprises decorative end spindles with ten central plain spindles.

Grilles were an architectural element of banking which, while being ornamental in appearance, provided security for tellers and assets of a bank.
