About this item

One of a pair of jugs with an elaborative Chinese design. The handles are ornate and take the shape of a lizard. The two jugs are of the same design although are different sizes. They both have the stamp “Victoria ware”.

Victoria Ware is a stamp used by Chinese companies imitating British wares from the Victorian era. Imation began in the 1950s and continues to this day. Design, pattern and shape are all copied with Chinese factories often intentionally distressing the pieces to give then an aged appearance.

These two vases are based on an original piece by the Mason Company who produced Chinese style vases in the late 1800s.
