About this item

This sewing machine dates to the late 19th Century and is still in workable order. It has no case although it would have been stored in a large wooden box case. Isaac Singer invented the Singer Sewing machine and set up The Singer Company in 1850. He patented his design in 1851 and shortly after won first prize at the World’s Fair in Paris. The Singer Sewing Machine was declared the world’s bestselling sewing machine.
