About this item

The Golden Joy presents a long ambitious poem of mystical nature and art. The poem, In Praise of Beauty, drew on Thomas’ knowledge of French and the classics. He included part of the poem in a Cantata that he had worked on in the early 1900s. Thomas, with Palmeri, from the Royal Academy of Music, shared the gold medal in the music festival of the Gaelic League – Feis Cheoil of 1904.
