About this item

When in Kilkenny in 1903 Thomas MacDonagh published a collection of poems, Through the Ivory Gate. It was almost a spiriual biography as he experienced a crisis of faith in leaving Rockwell. It brought him to unorthodox Christian mysteries akin to Yeats, to whom the book is dedicated.
