This handwoven, silk sari from India belonged to my mother, who received it from her brother, on a special occasion in 1998. My mother passed away in 2008 and her sari was passed on to me. I wore it on the occasion of my engagement in August 2012, and then again at my wedding in December. The sari comes from Mysore, known as Silk City, in the state of Karnataka.
