This Lodgement Book was discovered when we were renovating our house in Cloughjordan in 1970. The house used to include a shop and we converted it to residential. We don’t know what the ledger actually is, but the house and business used to be owned by William Hodgins so it’s very likely linked to him. He was a local banker and businessman and the person behind the Hodgins Penny Token in 1858. The Ledger covers the period 1826-1831 and is a rare find!
