Local historian Paddy Williams’ family are Cloughjordan hurling champions over four generations. Paddy’s grandfather, also Paddy Williams, was a member of the 1902 Lahorna De Wet team that won the County Tipperary senior championship. His father, also Paddy Williams, was a member of the 1940 Kilruane MacDonaghs’ team that won the North Tipperary championship. Paddy himself was on the 1986 Kilruane MacDonaghs’ team that were the All Ireland Club Champions. His son Pat, was on the 2003 Kilruane MacDonaghs’ team that were County Intermediate Champions. Paddy has four generations, and now five if we include young Patrick, age 2.
