I brought this early edition of Pride and Prejudice which I bought when I was around 11 from a newly opened antique shop in Dingle town. I was fascinated with the array of ‘treasures’ on view. I bought this and an early edition of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights which is still my favourite book of all time. Austen was an early entry into period drama. Owning such items opened my imagination to the stories something of historic nature could relate. My work as an Archaeologist led me on to training as a Museum Professional and there’s nothing I enjoy more than unlocking the often unwritten stories of objects I work with.
