TITLE

Stoneware Hot Water Bottle

Story about this item

My Grandaunt was a nun living in the Sisters of Assumption Convent in Blackpool, Cork. She brought this stone hot water bottle home to Moneygall, when the convent closed down. The hot water bottle was filled with hot or boiling water through the neck at the top which was screwed closed afterwards. Then it was dried with a cloth if any water had escaped. It was between bedsheets to warm the bed.
