I inherited this bound set of Illustrated London News newspaper editions from my grandfather, who had an extensive library. I remember as a kid taking them out to read, I was fascinated by the imagery and the ads. In particular I loved reading the WW1 stories. These editions cover the period January – December 2016 and I’ve selected the April edition that covers the Easter Rising. The headlines read “The futile Sinn Féin revolt, what Dublin owes the rebels” and “The Sinn Féin rebellion and its suppression, personalities.”
