Regional Museums Scheme

This year the Thomas MacDonagh Museum was awarded funding under the Regional Museums Exhibition Scheme. This Scheme, managed by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, is an important support for Ireland’s museum network and recognises the significant contribution made to the cultural heritage of Ireland by the Thomas MacDonagh Museum. Funding has been used for two streams of work related to the care of the collection.

Firstly, a portion of our photographic collection will be recorded and prepared for display on site and in web format. Secondly, our website will be upgraded in recognition of our local and global audience interest in our varied collections.

Watch this space for new additions to the website which are coming soon.
